The deal will give Smith the chance to lead the club to it’s first title by 2009.
Smith – who made his NRL debut with the Parramatta Eels">Parramatta Eels in round 1, 2005 against the Wests Tigers - has returned to his best form after a quiet slump last season.
The Parramatta Eels">Parramatta Eels were desperate to keep Smith in the family after losing Jeremy Smith to South Sydney last year along with Dean Widders and former coach Jason Taylor.
In another blow to the plans of rival clubs looking at raiding the stocks of Parramatta, in-form first-grade rookie Faleti Mateo also agreed to stay with the club.
The 22-year-old – who scored his second NRL try last weekend – signed on for another three-years despite rumours he was being chased by the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks">Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
Parramatta fans also had their prayers answered with lock Daniel Wagon agreeing to play for another season.
Meanwhile prop Josh Cordoba and hooker Matt Keating will also be around for another two-years.
“It’s good to have it all done and not worry about where I’m going to be,” Smith told the Australian.
“I’m excited about the team we’ve got around us.”
And so he should be. Cordoba, Keating and Mateo have all played in the Parramatta Eels">Parramatta Eels premier league side which has won back to back titles in 2005-06. - Read More, Here
