For Raper – who won a Challenge Cup with Wigan in 2002 – some good news has been long overdue.
The former Cronulla coach – who was given his marching orders at the end of last season - also snapped his Achilles heel before Christmas.
This is not the first time Raper has injured himself during the break. A few years ago the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks">Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks mentor also fell off a bike.
However lady luck now appears to be on Raper’s side as he prepares to kick-off his new role, adding invaluable feedback from a coaches and players standpoint.
More importantly for the former NRL coach it’s a chance to improve as he told the Daily Telegraph:
“I think this new job will help me in that it will give me a different insight,” Raper admitted.
“It will improve me as a coach if and when a position comes up.” - Read More, Here
