The Castleford Tigers ended their isolation in the lower grades on Sunday with a 42-10 victory over the Widnes Vikings in the National League One Grand Final.

Victory sees Castleford return to the English Super League for the first time since 2006

The Tigers best player was scrum-half Danny Brough who has signed with the Wakefield Wildcats for 2008.

Brough had a hand in five of the Tigers’ seven tries while collecting 14-points of his own from goal kicks to be awarded the Tom Bergin Trophy.

All-Blacks fans in Rugby Union think they’ve copped it bad.

But perhaps they should spare a thought for Widnes coach Steve McCormack who has now lost four finals in a row.

McCormack went down with Whitehaven in 2004 and 2005 before heading to the Vikings only to continue falling at the final hurdle.
