Bulldogs Coach Steve Folkes has advised club officials that he will not seek to renew his contract which expires at the end of 2008.
Folkes, who has an impressive 60 per cent winning strike rate with the Bulldogs, broke the news to chief executive Todd Greenberg on Monday afternoon.
"I have been giving the matter plenty of thought in recent weeks and I feel the decision is the right one and not only for me but for the club as well," Folkes said.

"My decision will end the speculation that's been rife for the past few months about my future and will enable me and the players to get on with the job of winning football matches and being in contention at the business end of the season."
The former Australian Kangaroos second-rower said that he has every intention to continue coaching and while his preference was to remain in Australia he will consider overseas opportunities.
"I reckon I still have another 10 years ahead of me as a coach and this decision will enable me to reinvent myself once my obligations with the Bulldogs finish," he said.

The Bulldogs will begin the search for a replacement immediately with plenty of names mentioned by the media in recent weeks including Mick Potter (Les Catalans) and Daniel Anderson (St Helens) to name just a few. - Read More, Here
