St George-Illawarra Dragons winger Wes Naiqama may be out for the rest of the season after injuring his knee during the Dragons 28-10 win over the Titans on Friday night.

The Fijiian star had only just converted his own try before landing awkwardly on his right knee in the 21st minute and being assisted from the field.

Losing the club’s highest point-scorer this season could not have come at a worst time for Dragons coach Nathan Brown who has been the subject of media speculation concerning his future this week.

However in some good news the Dragons saw the successful return of hooker Simon Woolford who gave a solid performance up-front along with fellow forwards Ben Creagh, Danny Wicks and Beau Scott.

Ahead 12-4 at half-time courtesy of two tries to Naiqama and Adam Peek, the Dragons dominated quickly in the second forty and extended their lead to 20-points with a lot of help from the Titans high percentage of errors.

The Dragons however appeared to knock-off a tad early and they paid the price for it when Titans halfback Scott Prince touched down virtually unmarked on the hour.

But any chance of a late fight back similar to what the visitors displayed in round 1 was quickly extinguished after Simon Woolford grubbered to Ashton Sims who handed the Dragons a 3-try lead.

It was an impressive win for the candy canes given they controlled a large period of the match with only 15-men available due to knee injuries to Naiqama and prop Jason Ryles.
