4th spot is not beyond the reach of Norths but they will need to bear hug 2nd-placed Balmain-Ryde into submission on Sunday afternoon.
The good news for Bears coach Wayne Lambkin is the return of Manase Manuokafoa following a lengthy stint in the NRL..Scott Geddes is however out due to a suspension.
Canterbury will lock in this year’s minor premiership on Friday night if they finish off Cronulla. They are however only 3 competition - points ahead of their nearest rivals.
A loss however would keep the Tigers and Knights in contention to steal top spot in the back end of the season.
Last year’s premiers Parramatta have improved their position in recent weeks and are no longer in danger of bowing out of the top eight.
They’ll finish in 5th spot at best before they attempt hunting for their 3rd straight title under new coach Rip Taylor. But they’ll need to beat a strong Newcastle side in round 24.
Newtown will be looking for a rare back to back win when they play Penrith who are coming off a confidence boosting 24-14 win over Newcastle.
Wests have left their run too late to offload the wooden spoon.They cannot knock off Newtown even if they win their last two clashes based on their for and against figures.
They should go down without a whimper at home against Canberra on Saturday while the Auckland Lions, Manly and St George-Illawarra enjoy a long weekend off.
