Wests Tigers fans hoping to see star five-eighth Benji Marshall get more pre-season game time have had their wish granted by coach Tim Sheens.

Marshall - who returned from shoulder surgery last weekend - will appear in the Tigers starting line-up for the first time this year during Saturday night's NRL Trial against Canberra.

The player, who many critics believe the Tigers can't win a premiership without, appeared in only 11 games for the Tigers last season and will be hunting for his first try since round 15 in 2006.

The Tigers are still looking for a win over an NRL squad in the off-season after going down 10-4 to the Roosters in week 1 of the trials.
