Lebanon may not miss this year’s Rugby League World after all due to political problems involving pool 2 team Fiji.

Fiji face the humiliating prospect of being unable to compete in the end-of-year tournament due to Federal Government sanctions.

The outcome of the political drama will depend on what action the Rudd Government takes in dealing with problems in Fiji.

One possible option is to implement sanctions that would include preventing Fijian teams from participating on Australian soil.
