South Darwin defeated Brothers 32 - 22 in round 10 of The Palmerston Hub Premiership Cup played at Richardson Park.

Souths scored 6 tries to 4 to secure their fourth win in season 2007.

Brothers Mick Maclean converted 3 tries in a game which had to be halted 16 minutes into the first half after teammate and renowned speedster Denis Olsen sustained a broken leg.

Brothers however opted to play out the remainder of the first half.

At half time Souths were only leading Brothers 10-6 and it was still anyone’s game.

However after the break Brothers big man Bradley Stephenson took a knock to his knee and had to be stretchered off. That was a telling blow in it’s own right to Brothers.

From then on in Souths were dominant in both defence and attack with Nathan Maclean hobbling from the field due to soreness to his knee after an impressive tackle on Bradley Stephenson.

Nathan has been a solid fullback for Souths since making his debut earlier in the year and is improving each week while filling in for the loss of Daniel Obodin.

Litchfield ran over Palmerston in the earlier game scoring 9 tries to 6.

The fit young Bears were just too strong for the smaller Palmerston team. Greg Fenwick for the Bears lead the way and for Palmerston Brad Norris was in top form, scoring 4 individual tries.

University accounted for the Nightcliff Dragons 25 - 18 in the main game.

The Dragons were there own worst enemy via a lot of dropped ball and a huge penalty count (13-2) going against them.

University in the end scored 4 tries to 3 to skip home merrily with two valuable competition points. - Read More, Here
