Sydney Roosters star recruit Willie Mason has been fined for allegedly taking a leak in a public place just days before his first match with the club.

Mason and teammate Anthony Tupou were issued infringement notices by Port Macquarie police following an incident last Saturday night which the Sydney Roosters do not wish to comment further on.

The incident reportedly happened hours after the Roosters first trial game against a series of local teams.

Both men have also been ordered to carry out community work with the local PCYC on top of their fine.

The embarrassing incident occurred just hours after an entertaining brawl between the Dunghutti Broncos and Roosters during last Friday night's trial game which recieved severe media attention over the weekend.

Before a crowd of 4,000, a fight erupted near the end of the opening third when Roosters forward Anthony Cherrington took exception to an incident in the play-the-ball.

Teammate Frank-Paul Nuuausala then entered the fray and it was on for young and old with players from both sides running in.

Both Nuuausala and Cherrington will face intense analysis of their actions by the NRL match review committee
