Sunshine Coast Lightning, Netball

established in 2016, sunshine coast lightning is part-owned by nrl club, melbourne storm and university of the sunshine coast. sunshine coast council is proud to help deliver the first elite netball team to the region. the combination of a community which is committed to sport and major events, a renowned academic institution focused on elite sporting performance and one of australia's leading professional sporting organisations, helped sunshine coast lightning become the inaugural suncorp super netball champion in both 2017 and 2018. the 2019 season is set to be huge for the sunshine coast club, seeking their third grand final win in a row.
